A vállalhatatlanságtól az ars poeticáig/From the Unacceptable to the Ars Poetica
(English version below)
I started thinking about what my true ars poetica might be.
And I came to this conclusion:
“Let me be as unapologetically inappropriate as the presence of women in the Hungarian Parliament: we tolerate them because we have to, and because having them there makes us look terribly progressive, but really, we’d all rather hide them in the kitchen.”
That one sentence explains how all of this could possibly come out of a single mind:
a tarot deck about the identity crisis of Uncle Juliska and Auntie Pista
a collection of short stories about miscarriage and other forms of loss
a mobile escape-room game about solving the mystery of a corpse rotting away in a Budapest panel apartment, complete with a bonus shopping bag and one utterly inappropriate ghost
a Hungarian dystopia with a few subtle political references, a couple of hanged people, and some fog
a play about the identity crisis of an AuDHD woman diagnosed in adulthood, set in a rabbit hole with a couple of vodka oranges
a choice-driven video game concept set in the Realm of Lost Dreams, where people’s lost ideas, desires, dreams and visions of the future end up
a story about an abused little girl whose disappearance is noticed by no one except her stuffed animals
and, of course, this blog
And yes, I really did write that Parliament joke. You saw it.
Thank God no one can lock us in the kitchen anymore.
