I Need Better Enemies
A video appeared on my FYP that actually made me think.
"You don't need a better support system. You need better enemies."
And then I listened to the video, and it clicked.
A support system—yes, it's good to have one, and it would be nice if not everyone told me I was delusional, if someone finally believed in me.
But...
What really drives me is when someone says I can't do it.
I mean: fuck off.
I can.
People often mistake it for me wanting to prove myself to others or caring about other people's opinions, but the truth is:
it simply drives me.
Finally, a fucking challenge instead of the repetitive "everyone can do it" shit. Something in the middle of all that boredom that makes my brain rusty.
And this is what actually makes me proud.
Not the things I do easily, naturally, even if they amaze people.
I never really cared about those. I know I should be proud of them, and I guess I kind of am, but...
At the same time, it's just...
meh?
But when someone says it's impossible...
Finally, I can play. Finally, I can enjoy myself, proving them—and myself—wrong.
So yeah, I guess I don't just need a better support system.
I should find the right enemies, too.
