Igazából bennem a “Ez tényleg működik?”

———- My entire life has been spent fighting with my own brain. I have an insanely large mental capacity, I can process huge amounts of information in a very short time, but if something doesn’t interest me or there isn’t at least a moderately terrifying deadline chasing me with a pitchfork, my brain simply zones out. And I find myself in the middle of a desert with absolutely no idea how I even got there or how the hell I’m supposed to get home.

I tried every overhyped method out there because I actually love building systems: roadmaps, Notion, lists, everything. I think I’ve created one or two learning systems that I could have probably sold, just because I found it interesting, and I also have a strong desire for predictability. All that just to abandon them halfway through as if I had never created them in the first place. Motivation, as such, ran out, and there was no routine either.

Then there’s the fact that I have a teaching degree from 2019, so I’ve studied all kinds of alternative methods just for all of them to turn into orange-flavoured disasters when it came to me. Basically, the questions “Does this actually work?” and “How the fuck is this supposed to work?” were competing for my attention at the same time, while the study material flew past my ears as if it had never been there in the first place.

I also used to learn poems by starting to study them during breaks on the day I had to recite them, somehow squeezing them out during class, and three seconds later I couldn’t even remember the title anymore.

Of course, I was called lazy, and everything else too, but let me ask you this: if I were really that lazy, how the hell did I manage to achieve what I did? What bothered me my entire life was that I knew there was an enormous amount of potential in my brain that I was unable to use because I had to waste my time on questionable things and methods. And that led to all kinds of lovely things, like anxiety, a desperate need to please everyone, depression, and the constant feeling that I am never enough, but somehow also too much at the same time.

But to say something positive for once: I found the solution to how I can actually use this huge capacity while also having a fucking great time doing it. Through arguing, tearing systems apart, and then rebuilding them. Instead of boring, repetitive crap, I give my brain what it apparently needs as a bonus: the dopamine rush of excitement and wanting to win.
