My Soul Tribe
And this whole flow of thoughts also made me think about something else.
The soul tribe I am looking for.
What am I actually looking for?
First, I desperately need intellectually curious people around me who I can brainstorm with about any single shit that comes into my mind. That's probably something I can find at university and later, hopefully, in the career I choose.
But...
What else?
It is absolutely not that simple.
Because that is the surface, the mental level, the intellectual stimulation.
But when it comes to the people around me, the ones I spend my life with... because we are not part of only one circle of people throughout our lives...
What do I need when it comes to close relationships?
And here comes the word: tribe.
Belonging to each other to the point where I know we can rely on one another.
That I know if someone hurts my daughter, that person won't go to jail without broken limbs.
I know that if I am in trouble, there are ten people I can call, and no matter what, they will find a way to help.
People I can be honest with without walking on eggshells all the time.
Where we are a community in a more instinctive, ancient way. No filters, no rainbows, no big hugs, and no crying on each other's shoulders about how life sucks—just being there whenever life gets hard.
Because humans were never meant to live alone, in solitude, solving only their own shit.
And family was never meant to be just parents and children.
