Sometimes I Can Impress Myself
Sooo,
let’s get down to business.
Because being depressed and focusing on what I don’t have and what I can’t have won’t help me move forward.
Yesterday, I decided to take part in a playwriting competition.
So I started making it happen.
In 2.5 hours, I came up with the core of the story, the characters I want to use, the two worlds the main character is trying to balance between—and will ultimately fail to reconcile. I also found the two main motifs: movement and the Tarot cards. The whole symbolic system.
To be fair, I’m pretty impressed with what I achieved in just 2.5 hours. Especially considering that I have never, ever written a play.
But it seems like the adaptation won’t be that hard. I just have to learn the basic genre conventions—that’s why I ordered a book—and after that, all I have to do is create.
Until then, I can spend more time planning.
But honestly, I can already see everything happening in front of my eyes: the actors, the scenery, even the costumes.
It’s crazy how easily and quickly I went from a state of self-doubt to "I got this shit."
The only thing that concerns me a little is the short deadline, but hey...
No deadline has ever held me back.
I won’t write my whole idea down—there’s no point.
But the title will be:
"Raccoon in the Rabbit Hole"
No, the White Rabbit won’t be there because after one hell of a rave party, it left the country.
