The Rabbit Hole Has Wi-Fi

Sooo, Playwriting!

This playwriting competition seems very fruitful. It will help me develop my skills over time, not only in playwriting but in storytelling overall.

It is good that I didn’t actually start writing before I got my new book.

First of all, I was forced to think about what I want to tell in one single, simple sentence.

So what is the premise of The Raccoon in the Rabbit Hole?

Not that I didn’t know what I wanted to tell, but at the same time, I didn’t know.

Does it make sense?

So, to answer this very simple question:

The price of giving up ourselves is either our own happiness or destroying the life we built on lies.

Yes, this is exactly what I am going through.

I either stay unhappy or destroy everything to its core, where I can finally be true to myself.

Naturally, this is what actually interests me at the moment.

In my head, everything is interconnected, so of course whatever interests me in my real life, I want to make happen in my art as well.

Anyway, on a slightly different topic, have I already mentioned that I don’t really like movies?

That is the form of storytelling that never really interested me.

Theatre?

Absolutely.

Games?

YES!

Books?

Of course!

This is also one of the reasons why I was always the weird one.

I am not saying that there are no movies I like.

There are.

But most of them are way too direct, don’t leave enough room for imagination, and don’t involve me at all. I am just... watching...?

Theatre leaves tons of room for imagination, and the audience is involved in some way. It is alive. I almost feel like I can go onto the stage and be part of it.

I just don’t have the same feeling when it comes to films.
