The Rabbit Hole Has Wi-Fi

That Scythe

Today I realized that I am probably neurodivergent. I'm pretty sure about ADHD, but there may be something else too.

This realization suddenly made my whole life make sense.

Why I struggled so much.

Why I was always the black sheep of the family.

My anxiety. My overthinking. How I hid behind my high intelligence.

It started to make sense why my kindergarten teacher told my mother that I was dumb and suggested taking me for an IQ test, where I ended up scoring exceptionally high.

And honestly, I'm so happy that I came to this realization now.

I don't feel insecure about it.

I don't even feel the need to investigate it further.

Because I am incredibly proud of who I am.

That half of my creative process happens through movement.

That I think differently.

I no longer want to fit into a world that believes there is only one solution, one correct way of living, one correct way of existing, thinking, or learning. A world where we force children to behave in one specific way, and everything else is considered wrong.

We are all different, and constantly relying on one-size-fits-all solutions is just stupid.

Instead of trying to fit in,

I will question this status quo for the rest of my life.

I was never meant to be the good girl or the boss bitch.

I was given a scythe to cut through illusion and question the status quo.

To question the rights and wrongs of the old world.

Because change is coming, and the longer we resist it and hide from it, the greater the damage we cause.

My mind—this scythe—is a gift from the universe.

It's time to use it for what it was always meant for.

To question the status quo.
