The Superman of My Brain / Az agyam Supermanje
What sometimes saves me from a total system crash?
Headphones on my head, with music so loud that even the dogs don’t want to come near me anymore.
Yes. This is how I study. This is how I write. This is how I work. It helps me focus on what I am actually supposed to be doing.
Sometimes I dance while doing it too. Yes, headphones on my head, a book in my hand, and I’m dancing at the same time. Yes, it’s exactly as absurd as it sounds, but for me, this is the most natural way of functioning.
Actually, I’ll go even further! I often need it to sleep too, especially when I’m thinking about a million things. I can literally not sleep because my brain is incapable of turning off the lights. A little music helps with that.
But no, don’t get me wrong, we’re not talking about some relaxing, pleasant little tinkly-winkly music. We’re talking about something that would destroy someone else’s nervous system for the next ten years.
And music also gives me flow. I can literally use it to trigger my hyperfocus.
Now I’ve started thinking about what I could call that famous, legendary, much-talked-about hyperfocus of mine, because one thing is certain: it belongs to a completely different category.
It’s the Superman of my consciousness: it doesn’t believe in the impossible.
Learning 600 pages of dense historical academic literature in one week? Piece of cake.
Writing a play in three days? Comes right out of my little finger.
Planning a two-week holiday in half an hour? Bring it here!
My two highway design engineers fall to their knees in tears of relief when they see it.
However, like every Superman, this one has kryptonite too.
And its kryptonite is:
“Do you have a minute?”
No. I don’t. Forget me. I don’t exist. This is just a hologram, it accidentally ended up here, don’t pay any attention to it. I’m currently lying on a beach in Malibu with the penguins. Look for me there.
And that’s it. Done. End of story.
If you know, you know.
If you don’t: please don’t talk to me when I’m really doing something. Send me a message on Messenger, and when I return to reality, I promise I’ll answer.

Igen. Így tanulok. Így írok. Így dolgozom. Segít fókuszálni arra, amit illene megcsinálnom. Néha táncolok is közben.
Hanem valamiről, ami másnak odavágja az idegrendszerét a következő tíz évre.
Meg a zene flowt is ad. Konkrétan a hiperfókuszomat is elő tudom vele hívni.
Kismiska.
Megírni egy színdarabot 3 nap alatt? Kijön a kisujjamból.
Megtervezni egy kéthetes nyaralást fél óra alatt? Idevele!
A két autópálya-tervezőmérnököm sírva esik térdre a megkönnyebbüléstől, amikor meglátják.
