When My Mental Trash Bin Became Something More

This blog is an interesting thing.

I created it to fight against my fear of sharing my thoughts and showing my true self.

And in a very short time, it became something else—something more.

It’s no longer just my mental trash bin that helps me organize my sometimes chaotic mind. It has also brought people back into my life from my past.

Some of them are people I never thought I would simply talk to again, just for the sake of talking.

For some, I finally started to make sense.

There is at least one person whom I’ve been able to inspire on his own journey.

It seems this blog has opened doors I never thought were worth knocking on.

And honestly, at the end of the day, being honest will bring closer the people I truly need and want in my life.

The people who find me interesting instead of seeing me as a burden.

Will I lose people? Absolutely.

Do I mind? No.

Masking and hiding got me nowhere. In the end, they only led to burnout.

Being honest and showing my true self is scary, but it also attracts the connections and opportunities I have always deeply desired.

The defensive mechanisms that protected me when I was a child—when my life wasn't in my own hands—became a prison of self-sabotage once I grew into an adult.

Will I be judged? Will I get hurt? I'm sure I will.

But I will always keep in mind that people who are at peace with themselves never find happiness in belittling others. That behavior belongs to those who are unhappy and, instead of facing their own reality, choose to hurt others.
